Luca Forgione has over 20 years of international experience in relation to shipping, offshore, marine logistics, commodity trading, oil & gas, mining and renewables.
Luca is a dual qualified lawyer (Italy, 2006 and UK, 2009), holds a Master’s Degree in Maritime and Commercial Law from the University of Southampton, was a Tutor in International Trade Law and Admiralty Law at University College London and later a Visiting Lecturer in International Trade Law at King’s College.
As general counsel to private and publicly listed companies, Luca has assembled and led legal teams working on innovative corporate and commercial transactions, complex cross-border disputes and several regulatory investigations across the globe, always ensuring that his business partners received practical and solutions-focussed support of the highest quality.
Luca has a comprehensive and invaluable understanding of each industry sector covered by Forgione Law, including the more technical and operational aspects, which means that advice is always provided in context with informed knowledge. In addition, his multidisciplinary background affords him a significant breadth and depth of contentious and non-contentious experience in transactions that are commonly undertaken in such sectors, including equity investments, joint venture and shareholder agreements, share, asset and business acquisitions and disposals as well as financing arrangements of different nature.
Further, Luca also has experience of international commercial arbitration both as counsel and as arbitrator, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Arbitrators and sits on the panel of arbitrators of well-known institutions in Europe, Asia and the USA.
